Frank Freas (1936 – 2022)

Frank Freas, 86, of Goshen, IN, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Goshen Hospital in Goshen.

Frank was born August 4, 1936, in Rock Falls, IL, to Wayne and Beulah (Blair) Freas. He was educated in Emerson School, Sterling High School, and Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL. He left home after 8th grade and lived and worked with four different families. Frank joined the United States Air Force in December 1957 and was honorably discharged as Airman 1st Class, in May 1962. He married Marilyn J. Hook-Wolf on July 18, 1965, in Morrison. She died May 23, 2014. He later married Carolyn J. LeFevre November 2015, in Erie, IL. He was employed at General Electric in Morrison for 34 years. Frank was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison and was currently a member of the Clinton Frame Church in Goshen, IN. He was an antique car enthusiast, especially the Ford Falcon, and was a member of the ILLOWA Antique Car Club in Clinton, IA. He was an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; children, Ken (Rita) Wolf, Rick (Cindy) Wolf, Dan (Dianna) Wolf, Dennis (Jennifer) LeFevre, Marcia (Stacey Zavesky) Friesen, and Karen (Calvin) Swartzendruber; 16 grandchildren, Mike (Carolyne) Wolf, Matt (Samantha) Wolf, Erin (Matt) Burkholder, Kelly (Donnie) Sorah, Dana (Emily) Wolf, Ryan (Erica) Doetsch, Curtis (Melissa) Doetsch, Jennifer (Matt) Phoeniz, Kaedi (Jesse) Baer, Keegan LeFervre, Blake Friesen, Jacey Friesen, Logan (Renee) Swartzendruder, Madison Swartzendruder, Michaela Swartzendruder, and Emily Swartzendruder; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Illa Hay and Lois (Ken) Heerdt; brother, Lyle (Patricia) Freas.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn; daughter, Jacki LeFevre; grandson, Aaron Wolf; great-grandson, Ethan Wolf; sister, Alice Schmitt; brothers, Glenn, Robert, Keith, and George Freas.

His Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, August 19, 2022, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Luke Schouten, Pastor of Emmanuel Church in Morrison, IL, officiating.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.

Memorials have been established to the Gideons and St. Jude’s Children Hospitals.
