Nancy K. Stone, 78, of Prophetstown, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Friday, June 3, 2022, at Allure of Prophetstown in Prophetstown.
Nancy was born August 26, 1943, in Morrison, to Warren and Mary Myrle (Howe) Nice. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. In 1967, she married Victor Charles Stone in Morrison. Nancy was employed at Weinstine and Shirk Law Offices in Morrison and was later employed by, and retired from, Exelon in Cordova, IL. In retirement, she worked at Nelson’s Electric. She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting as well as attending her grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include twin sons, Brad (Valerie) Stone of Port Washington, WI, and Brandon (Jackie) Stone of Fargo, ND: five grandchildren, Morgan and Mya Stone, Chloe, Parker, and Ava Stone; sisters, Mrs. Beth L. Thornburg of Clifton, CO, Marilyn J. (Brian) Dolieslager of Lyndon, IL, and Melissa L. N. (Eric) Arey of Tiffin, IA; brother, Merle E. (Nancy) Nice of Sterling, IL; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Allure of Prophetstown for their compassionate care of Nancy.
Her Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Rod Dye, retired Pastor, officiating.
A Visitation will precede the service starting at 4:30 pm.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial has been established for her grandchildren’s education.
