Morrison Garden Club again will hold a Plant Sale this year. The event is Saturday, May 21, 2022, in the City of Morrison Community Room, located at 307 S. Madison Street, in Morrison, IL. Doors open at 9:00 a.m., and the sale ends at 1:00 p.m. Pictured is the 2021 sale.
We cannot do it without your help! We invite area gardeners to help make our sale successful, by thinning out your crowded plantings. Donations are needed of perennial starts or cuttings from your gardens. We also accept house plants, planters, plant stands, garden tools, garden statuary, etc.–pretty much anything gardening related–in new or good, used condition.
A few volunteers are also needed on the day of the sale, to help carry out purchases to our customers’ vehicles and help with the cleanup. If interested, please see the contact information below, or come to our next meeting. It will be held in the Program Room at Odell Public Library on Thursday, May 12, at 6:00 p.m. Youth groups are welcome to help and build up Service Hours.
All donations can be dropped off near the west door entrance of the Community Room, on Friday, May 20, between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. Contact Sharon at 630-835-8373 or email her at sharonkmoore@mchsi.com, to arrange for another drop-off site. We can pick up your donations prior to Friday, May 20. Send messages directly to our Facebook page, “Morrison Garden Club.”
All proceeds from the sale will be put back into our community, to “grow” our current and future projects.
Morrison Garden Club is always looking for new members, and we will need volunteers for our bigger projects. One example would be mulching the Library grounds this spring/early summer. Brochures with information on the Club’s activities will be available at the Plant Sale. They are currently available at K & R Greenhouse, 15543 Bishop Road, Morrison.
