One of the elite care and rehabilitation centers in the State was the destination of the young of Whiteside County, on Good Friday, April 15, 2022.  Anticipating Easter, boys and girls responded to an invitation by Resthave Care & Rehabilitation, 408 Maple Avenue, Morrison, IL, to attend an Easter Egg Hunt.  Youngsters, mostly between the ages of 0 and 9 years old, gathered in anticipation of collecting stuffed Easter eggs, seeing the Easter Bunny, and perhaps earning prizes donated by local businesses.

The Easter Bunny arrived around 1:30 p.m., to allow any child an opportunity to share a photo before the 2:00 egg hunt.  As the deadline approached, the sky opened with snow pellets!  This added a sense of winter and a colorful accent to the forthcoming activities.

At 2:00 p.m. the youngest group (0-3) counted down “5…4…3…2…1” and sprinted into the area covered with eggs, which were stuffed with candy and a few special prizes.  The lawn was void of colorful eggs within minutes, and happy-faced children carried baskets to their awaiting parents.

The identical procedure was initiated by those ages of 4-6.

Then 7-and-older children repeated the scramble for eggs.  The Resthave lawn was void of eggs that had been scattered by the assisting Morrison High School Student Council members.

Snow pellets left the area only a few minutes before the final egg had been gathered.  Youngsters and parents left the Maple Avenue facility with candy and a memory of a fun Easter Egg Hunt at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation.  Maybe they had a thought to return next year and do it all over again.

These winners received prizes donated by John Martin, A+ Plus Self Storage in Morrison.

Scooters:  (0-3) Adalynn Batten; (4-6) Brooklyn Sharp; (7+) Rylee Geerts.
