In honor of Earth Day (Friday, April 22, 2022,) please do your part to help make our world and our City clean and beautiful. This is a reminder of the Morrison Lions Annual Recycle Day, to be held on Saturday, April 23, from 9:00 a.m. until noon, at the Whiteside County Fair Grounds, 201 W. Winfield Street, for Morrison, IL, community members only.
Any size TV (limit of five) and computer monitors will be accepted with a recycling fee of $20 each. Microwaves can be recycled with a fee of $10 each. Payment is cash only.
Items below will be accepted free as a community service.
New this year is unlimited paper shredding sponsored by Farmers National Bank.
Scrap metal, electronics, wiring, and household appliances will be accepted. Vehicle batteries (includes 6, 12, and 24 volt), aluminum cans, paper products (including cardboard, soft-covered books, magazines, and newspapers will be accepted. Eyeglasses, hearing aids, keys, printer ink and toner cartridges, American flags, old prescriptions, vitamins, and pet medicationsare acceptable. Please submit pills (out of bottles) in a clear, plastic bag. We accept no bottles, needles, syringes, or liquids.
Used motor oil and antifreeze can be dropped off at Kunes Auto Group, 627 E. Lincolnway.
This is a partial list of acceptable items. For more details, see the flyer posted on the Morrison Illinois Lions Club Facebook page and on the Morrison Lions Club website at www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/morrisonil/contact.php. Flyers are posted in the windows of many Morrison businesses.
We reserve the right to refuse any item, because there are many things we cannot accept for recycling.
