James Winslow Hufman (1946 – 2022)

James Winslow “Huffer” Hufman, 75, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison.

James was born May 4, 1946, in Iowa City, IA, to William D. and Mildred L. (Rhymer) Hufman.  He was educated in the Morrison grade schools and Morrison High School.  He married Beverly A. Becker on August 22, 1981, at United Methodist Church in Mt. Carroll, IL.  James worked for General Electric in Morrison for 35 years until retiring in 2000.  He also delivered newspapers for the Quad-City Times for 30 years.  After retiring, he drove semis and had various other jobs.  He was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church.  James was a member of, and served on, the Board of Morrison GE Employees Federal Credit Union; a member of the GE AA Golf League and GE Bowling League.  He was a Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan, an avid golfer, and lover of riding in his corvettes.  He and Beverly made several motorcycle trips to Sturgis in South Dakota.  Together they enjoyed wintering in Florida for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; daughters, Laura (Bob) Dudgeon of Bloomington, IL, Heather (Phil Kuehl) Hufman of Prophetstown, IL, and Sheri (Dennis) Benters of Mount Carroll, IL; son, Scott (Cindy) Sisler of Mount Carroll; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Michael Hufman.

His Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Morrison United Methodist Church, with Rev. Calvin Haines officiating.

The Memorial Visitation will precede the service, starting at 11:30 a.m., until the time of the service.

Cremation Rites will be accorded.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Inurnment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established memorials to Resthave Care & Rehabilitation, Morrison United Methodist Church, and MercyOne Hospice.
