Carl Edward Vander Eide, 94, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, January 24, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
Carl was born November 15, 1927, in Garden Plain, IL, to Hilcoe and Flora (Bonneur) Vander Eide. He was educated in the Garden Plain Schools. On August 24, 1948, he married Wilma J. Feldt in Garden Plain. Carl farmed alongside his wife his entire life in the Garden Plain area. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church; he was saved by Grace through Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; daughter, Carol (Gary) DeWitte of Morrison, IL; sons, Arnold (Janet) Vander Eide and John (Angela) Vander Eide, both of Garden Plain; six grandchildren, Mark (Holly) DeWitte, Melinda (Michael) Subo, Kristi (Eric) Christiansen, Michelle (Eric) Dykstra, Lynell (Jon) Breidenbach, and Jason (Ashley) Vander Eide; 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Marian G. Newendyke and Jeanette Schaver; brothers, Clarence, Orin, and Elmer Vander Eide.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022, at First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, IL, with Rev. Michael Hooker officiating.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery.
Memorials to First Christian Reformed Church and Unity Christian School have been established.
