Ronald Duane Hanson, 82, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, November 12, 2021, at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, IL.
Ron was born January 28, 1939, in Morrison, to Howard H. and Hazel Mae (Cummings) Hanson, Sr. He was educated in the Morrison schools and graduated from Morrison High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force as an Airman First Class. On February 11, 1960, he married Patricia K. Tiesman at Second Reformed Church in Fulton, IL. Ron worked for the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department, retiring after 30 years. He volunteered on the Morrison Fire Department for 26 years. Ron loved camping, fishing, yard work, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed spending his Saturday mornings at the Fire Department and his weekly trips to “Wally World.” Ron was a die-hard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughters, Kim (Todd Zuidema) Given and Jennifer Raser, both of Morrison; seven grandchildren, Jamie Given, Shanna Given, Andrea Given, Colten Zuidema, Alex Raser, Addison Raser, and Kaylynn Alfrejd; nine great-grandchildren; his beloved dog, Rookie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cheryl L. Hanson; brother, Howard H. Hanson, Jr.
His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Ken Renkes officiating.
There will be a Visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established by the family.
