Posted by

From noon to 5:00 p.m., on Friday, November 19, 2021, Whiteside County Health Department will hold a Pediatric Pfizer Clinic, for children aged five-through-11, in Fulton, IL.  The location is at the CGH Fulton Medical Center, 1130 17th Street, Suite B.

As with all vaccinations among individuals under 18, a guardian will need to be present to authorize vaccine administration.

Appointments will be limited to children who live, or attend school, in Whiteside County until Wednesday, November 17.  On November 19, anyone age five-through-11 may schedule an appointment.

This clinic is designed to help meet the demand for pediatric vaccination on the western side of Whiteside County, as providers remain temporarily limited.  Children will still require two of the lower, age-appropriate doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, at least 21 days apart, before being considered fully vaccinated.

Individuals should register online at https://events.juvare.com/IL-IDPH/b680708b-224d-4a70-b6e0-8359fef8f0d8.

CDC reminds individuals that during a six-week period in late June-to-mid-August, COVID-19 hospitalizations among children and adolescents increased five-fold!  Vaccination along with other preventative measures can help reduce the risk of severe disease, hospitalizations, or developing long-term COVID-19 complications.

COVID-19 vaccines have undergone–and will continue to undergo–the most intensive safety monitoring in U. S. history.  Getting children vaccinated can help protect them against COVID-19 and reduce disruptions to in-person learning, sports, and extracurricular activities, by helping curb community transmission.
