Morrison Chamber of Commerce is recruiting Cash Mob members.

What is a Cash Mob?  A Cash Mob is a type of “flash mob,” a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual or seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse.

But instead of singing and dancing, the Chamber of Commerce Cash Mob will spend money as a group!

We will surprise an unsuspecting target–a small, local business that makes our community special–in order to give the owner an economic stimulus.

On Saturday, May 3, 2014, our first Cash Mob gang will gather at 11:00 a.m. to

  • help businesses grow
  • make people happy
  • get stuff for ourselves
  • have a great time!

Cash Mob members vow to mob a pre-determined local business as a group and to pend $10 or more.  This is a great way to shop local, have fun, and send a message–loudly and clearly–that we need to keep our dough in town!

Iten-buck-pilenterested in being a Cash Mobster?  Here are the orders.

  • Meet at the Chamber office, 221 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3.
  • Discover the targeted business that will be mobbed and its location.
  • Vow to spend at least $10 at the Mob location.
  • Give that local business “the business” from 11:15 a.m. to noon.

For information on this assignment, call the Mob Leader, Corinne Bender, at Morrison Chamber of Commerce, 815-772-3757.
