At 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, September 9, 2021, City of Morrison Public Services Director Lori Matlack announced an immediate Boil Water.
It affects all businesses/residents on the North side of E. Main Street, between Genesee and Cherry Streets.
“Due to a water main break, it will be necessary for you to boil your water before consumption, stated Matlack.
“This Boil Order is given as a precaution. Pursuant to IEPA’s Safe Drinking Water Act, Boil Orders are required whenever the water system pressure drops below 20 psi, due to repairs and/or operational problems. Therefore, you are advised (until further notice) to boil all water used for drinking and cooking for at least five minutes before consumption. Water samples will be taken in your neighborhood, then taken to an IEPA certified lab for analysis. As soon as we receive notice of satisfactory results, the boil order will be lifted, and you will be notified.
“We thank you for your cooperation and apologize for this inconvenience.”
