On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash, involving a motorcycle and a Sports Utility Vehicle, near the intersection of U. S. Route 30 and Round Grove Road in rural Whiteside County.
Deputies arrived on scene, and it was determined the driver of the Motorcycle, 74-year-old Denny Fulfs of Sterling, IL, was deceased. A passenger in the 2000 GMC Yukon, Bria Williams, 27-years-old of Robbins IL, was also deceased, pinned under the Yukon.
According to witness statements and investigation, the 2000 GMC Yukon was traveling westbound on U. S. Route 30, and the motorcycle was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane. The 2000 GMC, driven by Gabrielle Thompson, 35-years-old of Andrew, IA, and the motorcycle collided head-on in the westbound lane of traffic. Thompson then lost control of the Yukon and traveled into the south ditch and rolled.
Pronounced dead on scene was Denny Fulfs and Bria Williams. There were several other passengers in the Thompson vehicle who were transported to the hospital, treated, and released. The crash remains under investigation.
Whiteside County Deputies were assisted by Morrison Police Department, Illinois State Police, Morrison Fire Department , Morrison Ambulance, CGH Ambulance, and Whiteside County Coroner’s Office.
