Clarice Mae Meyer, 94 of Erie, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Pleasant View Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Morrison, IL.
Clarice was born May 22, 1927, in Bristow, IA, the daughter of Gerhard “Gus” and Gertrude “Gertie” (Meyer) Siefken. She married Reverend Ralph Stado Meyer on August 16, 1949. Clarice graduated from Central College in Pella, IA, and then taught elementary school prior to having her own children. Later, she worked for Erie Casein until retiring. Clarice loved to sing and play the piano all through her youth. She often played piano and sang at the churches where she and her husband served. Clarice was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Clarice is survived by her children, Brenda Marie Meyer, Orange City, IA, Ralph Albert (Kate) Meyer, Jacksonville, FL, Calvin Gene Meyer, Cedar Rapids, IA, Clarice Jean Podeswa, Erie, IL; sister-in-law Delores Siefken, Clarksville, IA; grandchildren, Kiley, Katie, Molly, Danny, David, Julie, Ben, Josh, Michelle, Kaitlin, Star, Kristin, Jeremy, Kevin, and Misty; 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; sons, Michael Meyer and Gary Meyer; sister, LaVerne Sarver; brother, Glenn Siefken; step-sister, Josephine Schipper.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Bethel Baptist Church, 27308 108th Avenue N, Port Byron, IL.
Visitation will be prior to the Service from 1:00-3:00 P.M.
Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Aplington, IA.
A memorial has been established by the family.
