Anton “Tony” B. Milder, Jr. (1929 – 2021)

anton milderAnton “Tony” B. Milder, Jr., 91, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, May 31, 2021, at his home.

Tony was born June 18, 1929, in Clinton, IA, to Anton B., Sr., and Gladys V. (Williams) Milder.  He was a graduate of Clinton High School.  He married Mona P. Tyra on September 22, 1972, at First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown, IL.  Tony worked at General Electric in Morrison as a Tool and Die Maker until retiring.  He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison.  Tony loved antique cars and served as President of the Double I Antique Car Club.  He enjoyed swimming, boating, spending time on the Mississippi River, and traveling.  Tony had a whole room in his home that he set up for his model trains.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mona, of Morrison; daughters, Toni Lynn (Michael) Oates of Waxhaw, NC, and Caroline (Dave Kaup) Roach of Clinton; son, Steve (Sandy) Milder of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Aidan and Dylan; Joe, Shawna, and Megan; Marcus and Jason; two great-grandchildren, Haley and Claire; three stepchildren, John, Teresa, and Linda; five step-grandchildren; sisters, Anna (Curtis) Greenwalt of Bristol, IN, and Carol (John) Marshall of Springfield, OH; brother, Kenneth (Pat) Milder of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy Levison; stepdaughter, Mary Jane; sisters, Luella Carter and Doris Milder; brothers, Robert Milder and twin brothers, Albert and Delbert in infancy.

His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Visitation from 9:30 a.m., until the time of the service.  Ken Renkes will officiate.

Interment will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton, IA.

Memorials have been established to the Morrison Fire Department and Morrison EMS.
