City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen submitted this Main Street Redevelopment Project update on Friday, May 21, 2021.
He summarized work completed from Monday, May 17, through Friday, May 21.
Dykhuizen also listed a work schedule for next week and upcoming street closures.
Construction Activity, May 17-21
- Made final watermain connection at Market Street and Genesee Street
- Pressure-tested watermain on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street
- Chlorinated watermain on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street and obtained bacteriological samples
- Constructed water services on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street
- Constructed storm sewer and inlets on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street.
Construction Activity, May 24-28
- Finish constructing water services on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street
- Finish storm sewer on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street
- Start removing the existing pavement, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and driveways on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street and on Orange Street, from Market Street to U. S. Route 30.
