ball explodedRegistration is now open for five Morrison Youth Baseball and Softball divisions.  After this long winter, we want to see as many kids as possible running around those bases!  Even if your child hasn’t participated in the past or is uncertain, bring him or her to the tryouts, to meet the great volunteers and coaches that will help make this a fun season.

The divisions are boys baseball B-league (ages 7-8); boys A-league (ages 9-10); boys Majors (ages 11-12); girls softball Minors (ages 7-9); and girls Majors (ages 10-12.)  All ages listed are as of Thursday, May 1, 2014.

Registration forms are being accepted online (www.quickscores.com/morrisonsports); at City Hall, 200 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL; at tryouts.

Registration closes Tuesday, April 1.

Tryouts are Saturday, March 22, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue.  Tryouts are designed to help the league balance its teams during the subsequent player draft, which promotes competitive parity amongst the teams.

  • Player evaluations never cause players to be excluded from participation in the league.
  • All registered players who attend tryouts will be placed on a team in his or her division.
  • If you have a scheduling conflict with tryouts, please note that on your registration form or talk to a Board Member.

The player draft will be conducted by league coaches on Tuesday, March 25.  After the draft, parents/guardians will be contacted by the child’s coach about the team assignments and first practice information.

If you are interested in coaching, please note your interest on the registration forms.

Opening Day is scheduled for Friday, May 9, at the Morrison Sports Complex.  Saturday, May 10, is the rain day).
