helen knoxHelen L. Knox, 94, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Resthave Home.

Helen was born July 25, 1919, in Morrison, to William and Edith (Hammer) Irion. She was educated in the Robertson School of rural Whiteside County and was a 1938 graduate of Morrison High School. She married Keith E. Knox on September 21, 1940, in Clinton, IA. He died June 9, 2002. Helen was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison and a member of the church’s Mariners Club, and she served as a Sunday School teacher. She had served as a Girl Scout leader and volunteer for Resthave Home in Morrison. Helen enjoyed playing cards with the same card club for over 40 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen Meyer of Austin, TX, Mary Jane (Jim) Landherr of Waukesha, WI, and Patricia (Larry) Grace of Austin; six grandchildren, Jeff (Julie) Landherr, Kurt (DeeDee) Landherr, Tim Landherr, Tom Landherr, Dan (Diane) Landherr, Andy Bielema; two step-grandchildren, Dennis (Kathy) Grace and Randy Grace; seven great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jennifer Landherr, Cara and Katie Landherr, Sarah and Matthew Landherr, Alec Bielema; three step-great-grandchildren, Brandi, Kyle, and Marissa Grace; one sister, Mary Ihde of Jefferson, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Margaret Aitken-Irion; her husband, Keith; two sisters, Lola Lubahn and Ruth Entwhistle; five brothers, Harry, Willis, Donald, Raymond, and Robert Irion in infancy.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING:  Rev. Dr. Michael Selburg, Pastor, First Presbyterian Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION:  12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel–Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT:  Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
