Clinton’s Lumber History will be the next featured topic at the Windmill Cultural Center on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. The Windmill Cultural Center is located at 111 10th Avenue, Fulton, IL. Matt Parbs, Director of the Clinton Sawmill Museum, will share Clinton’s connection to the American lumber industry and how the museum is showcasing this unique aspect of local history.
Matt was born in Springfield, IL, and grew up surrounded by history. As a new college graduate in 2010, he visited the newly-opened National Museum of Surveying. To his surprise, he loved the museum so much he agreed to help run it. In March 2013, Matt started a new journey and became the Director of The Sawmill Museum in Clinton, IA.
The Wild Winter Wednesday programs are free to attend and open to the public. Light refreshments are served at 9:00 a.m. with a program following.
