Alexandre Dumas stated, “Nothing succeeds like success.” Stephanie Schroeder’s smile reflects the gratification of earning a second consecutive scholarship from Computer Systems Institute (C.S.I.) in Chicago, IL.

Schroeder is a 2012 graduate of Morrison High School.  She will attend her second graduation in May 2014, after completing trainings to become a Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) and a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT.)

Stephanie qualified for the original scholarship in August 2013, after meeting entrance requirements for admission to C.S.I.  She transferred a semester’s coursework from both Sauk Valley Community College in Sterling, IL, and Blackhawk College in Moline, IL.

Criteria to win this scholarship were based on letters of recommendation from organizations stating her character and service to others.  The final decision was based on the content of Schroeder’s essay.  She successfully described how personal experiences contributed to the community service she provides.

A press release from her educational institution reads, “Miss Schroeder has proven herself worthy of the scholarship by overcoming  many personal challenges in her own life and has a strong will to give back.  While attending [her previous schools], she has worked with different organizations who serve the handicapped population.”

After receiving the first term scholarship in the fall of 2013, Stephanie had to maintain a 3.5 grade point average to qualify for the second term scholarship for 2014.  She has surpassed the required grade point average and has perfect attendance.

Schroeder previously passed her Illinois State Board Exam and is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA.)

C.S.I. is a private institution offering a variety of programs specializing in Business, Computer Technology, and Medical Fields with the approval of the Illinois Board of Higher Education.  C.S.I. was founded in 1989 with campus sites in Chicago, Skokie, Gurnee, Elgin, and Lombard, IL, and in Charlestown and Worcester, MA.
