A 1978 graduate of Morrison High School, Andy attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY, and graduated in 1982.  He was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers.  He has served in a number of different positions, primarily with engineer, field artillery, transportation, and logistics units, and, ultimately, with V Corps Headquarters.  His first assignment was with a Divisional Combat Engineer Battalion, but the majority of his career has been with construction engineer units.

Osborn has had overseas assignments in Korea and Germany and is proud of having spent over 12 years assigned overseas.  He also completed three deployments:  Bagram, Afghanistan ((2005-2006); Tikrit and Mosul, Iraq (2007-2008); Kabul, Afghanistan (2012-2013.)

LTC Osborn took a break from service from 1990 to 2000 to earn a MSCE from the University of Illinois.  He worked for two construction contractors, two City Governments, and two Federal Government positions.

Osborn will remain in Germany with his partner, Irene Heidner, and their son, David.  His daughter Amy, 20, is a senior at Westminster College in Fulton, MO, and his son Robert, 15, is a sophomore at Waynesville, MO, High School.

After their stay in Germany, Gene and Marian enjoyed a short visit with son Glenn, his wife Laura, and their sons Stephen and Patrick in Randolph, NJ.

Osborn’s parents each received a Certificate of Appreciation, thanking them for their support of Andy during his term of service.

“They got a kick out of it!” stated Burns.
