Odell’s Friends of the Library group is pleased to announce their annual Book & Bake Sale to be held in the Community Room at the library on Saturday, November 2, 2013, beginning at 9:00 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the book budget at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL.
The Bake Sale will run from from 9:00 a.m. to noon, but the Book Sale continues to 3:00 p.m.
As usual, shoppers will be treated to a huge selection of their favorite books, priced at just 25 to 50 cents! Mystery, romance, science fiction, cooking, gardening, history, children’s materials–we’ve got it all. The only thing that could sweeten these deals is the scrumptious desserts being sold alongside these fabulous books.
To help make this event a success, Odell is now accepting gently-used books and other media donations. All items may be brought to the library during regular business hours or placed in the outdoor drop box before Monday, October 28. Slim down your bookshelves to make room for all the new books you’ll pick up at the sale.
Have a baker in the family? Odell is also seeking donations of baked goods. Items should be non-perishable foods that do not require refrigeration (no meringues, creams, puddings, etc.) Treats should be prepared no more than 24 hours in advance of the sale. Bakers should provide their name, the name of the dessert, and any major allergens (i.e. peanuts, eggs, wheat, milk, nuts) on an index card and are asked to use disposable containers.
Baked goods can be delivered to the library between 8:00 and 8:45a.m. Saturday morning, November 2.
