Usually a couple celebrates a first anniversary privately–but not Brent and Liz Fischbach, owners of Baked by Liz, at 119 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL. They have invited the entire town to celebrate their business anniversary, with a block party on Saturday, August 31, 2013!
From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the 100-block of E. Main Street will be blocked to traffic between Cherry (IL Route 78) and Genesee Streets. Residents who need to enter businesses in that block on Saturday will want to come prior to the start time or park in another block.
“Our intention is to bring a music and arts fest” to the area outside Baked by Liz–a popular sweetshop and musicians’ venue, stated Liz. There has to be room for the numerous family-oriented activities the Fischbachs planned. She stated they welcome local fundraising groups–such as Morrison High School cheerleaders and marathon runners seeking pledges for Morrison Schools Foundation–to set up tables along the sidewalk.
Expect
