carlton fisherCarlton H. “Bud” Fisher, Jr., 75, of Sterling, IL, died Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling.

Carlton was born, November 2, 1945, in Sterling, the son of Carlton and Ruth (Friesen) Fisher.  He married Jo Anne Digby on December 2, 1990, in Morrison, IL.  Bud worked in the steel industry for over 50 years, at the former Northwestern Steel & Wire Company and Sterling Steel Company as Director of Business Planning.  He was an avid golfer, who started playing golf at the age of seven, and enjoyed taking golf trips to new courses with friends.  Grandchildren were a special part of his life that brought him joy.

Survivors include his wife Jo of Sterling; daughters, Heather (Steve) Zoellner of Waddell, AZ, Sara (Bruce) Colmark of Sterling, and Jennifer (Greg) Thomas of Grayslake, IL; son, Andrew (Cecilia) Schroeder of Morrison; brother, Kent (Elena) Fisher of California; 14 grandchildren, Alex, Brandon, Jordan, Sport, Emery, Macgregor, George, Zoe, Stevie Ann, Ashley, Michael, E. J., Kai, and Annie; two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Arthur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth (Friesen) and Carlton Fisher, and sister Kay (Fisher) Allen.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 30, 2021, the funeral home, with Scott Porter, officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling, IL.

A memorial has been established to American Cancer Association.
