On Saturday, August 10, 2013, two former Morrison Fillies will return to the area to teach fundamental softball to area girls. Abby (Vock) McBride and Katie Tenboer, both 2007 Morrison High School graduates, will host an instructional softball camp.
Katie Tenbor, left, is a two-time Division III All-American at Central College in Pella, IA. Abby McBride, charging home, is a Big 12 All-Conference player at the University of Missouri.
The women will inform participants about Position Specific Techniques; Base Running; Hitting/Bunting; Sliding; Infield and Outfield. They will analyze the individuals’ hitting styles and teach what it means to be mentally tough in a complex game.
The camp will take place at the Morrison Sports Complex, 15201 Bishop Road, Morrison, with three separate age-level sessions. Registration begins 30 minutes prior to the session.
- The First Session is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for girls seven years old through 5th grade.
- The Second Session is from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for girls 6th through 8th grade.
- The Final Session is from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. for girls 9th through 12th grade.
