Donna VanKampen, 81, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
Donna was born April 27, 1939, in Morrison, to John and Susan (Birely) Sykes. She graduated from Morrison High School in 1958. On January 2, 1959, she married Leon D. VanKampen in Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. Donna first worked at General Electric Co. She later went to work in the Morrison Schools lunch program because of her love for children. She enjoyed doing that for 12 years. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. Donna enjoyed cooking, baking. and flowers, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Leon; daughters, Pamela (Jim) Smith of Morrison and Becky (David) Hess of West Chester, OH; son, Mark (Pamela) VanKampen of Chippewa Falls, WI; eight grandchildren, Ashley VanKampen, Alex (Sarah) VanKampen, and Lindsay VanKampen, Brittany Smith and Mitchell (Wanessa) Smith, Adam Hess, Laura Hess and Claire Hess; great-grandchild, Cayde VanKampen; sister, Bonnie Kuhnen of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight loving siblings.
A graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL, with Ken Renkes officiating.
There will be no Visitation.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial to Ebenezer Reformed Church has been established.
