The 2020 annual Festival of Trees events to benefit Rock River Hospice & Home have been modified, to abide by the Phase 4 guidelines and other State and Local regulations. It will not be possible to accommodate all holiday events; changes have been made to those below.
We feel we can modify them and keep the community, our staff, and volunteers safe.
November 9-21, Festival of Trees Large Trees and Friendship Tree Viewing Only
A limited number of Large Trees and Friendship Trees will be available for viewing only in storefronts at Northland Mall in the west hall (Bergner’s hall.) Trees will be up for bid, along with some table settings, auction baskets, and items in an online auction. The auction will take place November 17-21. November 12-21, Rock River Hospice & Home Festival of Trees Country Store
Find that special gift or holiday baked good for yourself, your family, or friends at the Festival of Trees Country Store, sponsored by Johnson Oil Company. The store will open at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, at Northland Mall in Sterling, IL, and will remain open through 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21. Masks will be required for all patrons and volunteers. You will be asked to sanitize your hands upon entrance and maintain six-foot distancing requirements. A maximum number of patrons will be allowed in the store at any given time. For more information, call 815-625-3858.
November 14, “Home for the Holidays” Festival of Trees Non-Gala Event
We ask you to not join us in person this year. Stay home with your family and have a nice meal or have a pizza, movie, and popcorn night. Save money on a new outfit. There is no need to get your hair done. You can even be in bed by 9:00 p.m. if you want. We do invite you, however, to continue to support Rock River Hospice & Home and the services we provide to our communities at no cost. Help us with a donation of what you would have spent to attend the annual event (on tickets, drinks, auction items, new clothes, a haircut, etc.) Donations can be made by check or credit/debit card. November 17-21, Rock River Hospice & Home 31st Festival of Trees “Home for the Holidays” Online Auction

November 30-December 5, Festival of Trees Holiday Hustle Virtual 5K Run/Walk
Rock River Hospice & Home will host a virtual 5k walk/run for hospice, keeping with social distancing requirements. The idea is to set your own goal of doing a 5k and do it at your own pace, completing your goal within a week. Dress up in some festive Holiday attire to make it more fun. Share your photos by tagging us on Facebook (@rockriverhospiceandhome) or Instagram (@rockriverhospice), and use the hashtag #FOTHolidayHustle.
