Nina H. Ivey Pittman, 92, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at her home.
Nina was born February 29, 1928, in Covington, TN, to Warren and Nora (Rice) Fleming. She was educated in the Covington school system and Byars Hall High School. Nina married Farris L. Ivey, Sr. on January 28, 1946, in Hernado, MS. He died April 22, 1982. She later married Homer W. Pittman. He died April 30, 1991. Nina worked at General Electric in Morrison for over 23 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Como Baptist Church in Como, IL. She was an amazing quilter and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, painting, and gardening. Nina loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved cats.
Survivors include daughters, Betty (Randy) Heide of Morrison and Nina K. “Kathy” Sieberns of Freeport, IL; sons, Farris (Debby) Ivey, Jr. of Bellview, FL, and Roy (Norma) Ivey of Covington; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Matthews of Covington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Farris Ivey and Homer Pittman; daughter, Sawanna Jackson Ivey; son, George Ivey; three grandchildren, Brittany Ivey and Fay and Ray Jackson.
A graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL, with Rev. Larry Jones and Rev. Calvin Haines co-officiating.
Friends are invited to join the family for the graveside service. You may social distance and wear a mask at your discretion.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family.
A memorial to Gaffey Hospice in Sterling, IL, has been established.
