Each of us has had “one of those days” when things go very wrong. We complain, cope, conquer, or concede. On Monday morning, September 28, 2020, during our family walk, before remote learning classes began, daughter, grandchildren, and I discovered this helpless cat. Its head and neck were deep into an empty bag of Doritos flavored tortilla chips.
I recognized this grey cat. It is one of several feral felines that frequent my yard. They are unapproachable. At first, I did not think it would allow me to approach and ease its predicament. A bagged, sightless, frightened animal on the run would not have been helpful.
Speaking softly as I walked closer, I noted the cat did not stir. I snatched the snack bag, and the cat fled–without a thank you meow.
Who knew cats like the spicy taste of Doritos?
