First Whiteside County Ballots Were Cast

IVotedIn the County Clerk’s office, the first 148 Whiteside County voters cast ballots on Thursday, September 24, 2020, ahead of the General Election.  In-person voting is now conducted at the Whiteside County Courthouse, 200 E. Knox Street, Morrison, IL, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

County Clerk Dana Nelson stated, “We usually have 4500 persons who vote early or absentee and 25,000 who go to the polls.  This year we anticipate up to 10,000 early/absentee votes to be cast.”

If you requested to have your ballot mailed to you (for either Early or Absentee voting), your should wait until you receive that ballot.  The requested, early ballots will be mailed in October.  Once completed, mail or hand-deliver the ballot to the County Clerk’s Office.  Another way to return your ballot is to place it in the secure, first-ever-used, drop box at the Courthouse parking lot.

There is no real hurry.  Early voting continues through Monday, November 2, the day before the General Election.  Hours are the same for the following Mondays-through-Fridays.  There will be Early Voting on two Saturdays:  October 24 and 31, from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

October voting will be available on a limited basis in Sterling, IL, for all Whiteside County Precincts, at the Eastern Branch Court Facility, 101 E. Third Street.  Three dates and times fare available for voters, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:  Wednesday, October 21; Thursday, October 22; Friday, October 23.
