Thirteen elected officials from Henry and Whiteside Counties announced their endorsement of Congresswoman Cheri Bustos for re-election. The officials all emphasized her understanding of local issues and consistent partnership at the Federal level, to improve the lives of hardworking Illinois families.
Congresswoman Bustos is in her fourth term representing Illinois’s 17th Congressional Distric. She is a leader in the fight to lower health care costs; rebuild our region’s infrastructure; help Illinoisans weather the COVID-19 pandemic and work to safely reopen; deliver real results for hardworking families across Northwest and Central Illinois.
“I appreciate the support of these local leaders in Henry and Whiteside Counties,” Congresswoman Bustos said. “Each of them have worked tirelessly to invest in our communities and ensure our towns receive the resources they need. I am proud to be in this fight with them, to keep our communities healthy and rebuild our region’s infrastructure.”
“Cheri has always been there whenever I have had a question or comment, to listen to me and try to help me or get me to a place that could,” said Henry County Board Member John Sovanski.
“From health care, to infrastructure, to economic development, Cheri understands what rural communities need,” Gabrielle Palmer, Rock Falls Alderwoman, said. “She has the skills and experience required to help us drive growth and bring valuable resources to the places where we work and live.”
“Cheri Bustos, for me, represents the best qualities I have come to expect from my Congressional Representative,” said Whiteside County Board Member Fidencio Hooper-Campos. “She is very attuned to the needs of the people in the 17th Congressional District. Cheri is very approachable and personable in her interactions with constituents. She makes herself accessible and doesn’t hide from answering questions about her votes and stances on issues.”
“Cheri has been an excellent advocate for hardworking Illinois families, and I’m proud to support her for re-election,” Thomas Ausman, Whiteside County Board Member, said. “For example, I have seen firsthand how she advocates for veterans who are seeking help with their Veteran Affairs benefits. Through her consistent outreach, she always knows what’s on the minds of those she serves and will continue to give us a voice at the decision making table.”
“I am continuing to support Rep. Cheri Bustos, because she has done the things she said she would do while campaigning,” said Henry County Board Member Jan May. “She has kept the lines of communication open with the people she represents. She listens and acts.”
