September 11 Sheriff’s Office Report

These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On 9-9-20, at 8:27 p.m., Antoine J. Chewland, age 25 of Cedar Rapids, IA, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 88 at milemarker 15.  Chewland was cited and bonded on the following charges:  Driving While License Suspended; Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (102/70 MPH); Improper Lane Usage; Unlawful Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle.  Erie Police assisted on scene.

On 9-9-20 at 9:45 p.m., Mitchell J. Hart, age 18 of Prophetstown, IL, was stopped on Interstate 88 at mile marker 23 for speeding.  Hart was cited for Speeding 82/70 MPH and No Valid Driver’s License.  He was released on bond pending a court date in Morrison, IL.  Todd’s Tire and Auto assisted on scene.

On 9-10-20 at 6:00 p.m., following an incident of quasi-criminal activity in the Mineral Springs-Sterling, IL, area on Monday, September 7, at 3:20 a.m., Jakob R. Wallingford-Holcomb, age 19 of Morrison, IL, was trying to flee from the vigilant residents and crashed his vehicle into a tree, causing major damage.  Wallingford-Holcomb then fled from the scene and was stopped by Deputies at W. Fourth Street and W. Avenue.  During the course of the investigation, Wallingford-Holcomb was cited for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash and No Headlights When Required.  The residents graciously prevented further criminal activity by their ever-vigilant neighborhood reclaim.  The other occupants fled the scene on foot.

On 9-10-20 at 10:20 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies were dispatched to 16566 Tampico Road in rural Sterling, IL, for a physical Domestic Battery.  Upon further investigation, Antwaun Harris, age 36 of Sterling, was arrested for two counts of Domestic Battery; Aggravated Battery to a Child; two counts of Endangering the Life or Health of a Minor, in which the victim was a nine-year-old female.  Antwaun was arrested on scene and transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was processed and held in lieu of bond.  Illinois State Police assisted on scene.
