Federal Bureau of Prisons Job Fairs and Application Workshops

PrisonThe Federal Bureau of Prisons will host two job fairs and application workshops on Saturday, September 12, and Wednesday, September 16, 2020.  There are more than 100 job openings for Correctional Officers.  Starting salary for Correctional Officers range from $42,000 to $50,000 depending on qualifications.  A 10% Recruitment Bonus is available to those hired by Wednesday, September 30.

These are Law Enforcement positions eligible for full Federal pensions in 20-25 years.  Other benefits include:

  • 5% match to 401K
  • ten Federal holidays annually
  • 13 days of sick leave annually with no maximum balance
  • between three-and-five weeks of paid vacation time annually.

The job fair on Saturday, September 12, will be held at the United States Penitentiary Thomson Training Center, located at 1100 One Mile Road, Thomson, IL, 61285, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Job seekers will be able to meet with professionals and receive onsite application assistance.  Call 815-259-1666.

The job fair on Wednesday, September 16, will be held at the Grand River Event Center, located 500 Bell Street, Dubuque, IA, 52001, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Call 815-259-1666.
