On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a residence located in the 24000 block of Front Street, (Como), rural Sterling, IL, for a deceased male subject. The deceased is a male in is 40s who was found in the front yard of his residence. Upon preliminary investigation, the male suffered a gun shot wound. The location of the gunshot wound is not disclosed at this time. Whiteside County Detectives arrived on scene shortly after receiving the report and were assisted by the by Illinois State Police Crime Investigation, Illinois State Police Investigation Division, and Whiteside County Coroner’s Office.
