Steven John Vegter, 52, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, April 23, 2020, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison.
Steve was born August 1, 1967, in Morrison, IL, to Harlan and Marilyn (Stuart) Vegter. Steve attended Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He married Rebecca Sue Eichelberger on August 1, 2004, at the Rock River Christian Center in Rock Falls, IL. Steve was employed by P & P Industries in Morrison and most recently with Tyson’s Fresh Meats in Joslin, IL. He loved football, especially the Buffalo Bills, and wrestling. He shared a passion for cars and watching Motor Trend with his children. He was very adamant about his girls having a good education.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; daughters, Clara, Geneva, and Arlana Vegter; step-daughter, Natisha Partridge; parents, Harlan and Marilyn Vegter of Morrison; sister, Barb (Scott) Reynolds of Fulton, IL; brothers, Arnold (Twyla) Vegter of Morrison and Mark Vegter of Bloomington, IL.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established by the family.
