Whiteside County Economic Development (WCED) sent an email message to local businesses and other economic development partners on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
Gary Camarano, Whiteside County Economic Development Director, said, “We want to get this important message out to all Northwest Illinois Region manufacturers, and we don’t want to miss any. Our media partners can be a big help with this. It was said earlier today that ‘our Nation is united in this, with a six-foot space between us, but still united.’ I am sure there are a lot of Northwest Illinois businesses that can contribute to the National manufacturing ramp-up of needed supplies.”

Urgent: Manufacturers Needed-Production for COVID-19 Responses
You may have seen this before, but there is a need for manufacturers to assist to produce needed supplies.
We received an urgent request from the National Association of Manufacturers, on behalf of the White House, that the Federal Government is seeking manufacturers that can produce critically needed supplies for the National response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Manufacturers should respond to this link: https://nameissvr.nam.org/nameissvr/survey/index.aspx for the COVID-19 NAM Components Survey.
We hope you strongly consider taking this survey. Due to the urgency of this request, manufacturers should take the survey as soon as possible.
Please note survey question #5. Even if an organization cannot produce specific items that are requested, that organization may indicate other items they are in a position to make available.
