On 3/14/20 at 10:45 p.m., James A. Kovach, age 23 of Naperville, IL, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 88 at mile post 35. Kovach was cited for speeding 95/70 MPH and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. He was released on bond pending a future court date.
On 3/15/20 at 3:30 a.m., Cooper R. Darby, age 18 of Morrison, IL, was stopped in Morrison for tinted windows. Darby was cited for the tinted windows and processed for Zero Tolerance Implied Consent. Both passengers, also from Morrison, included a 17-year-old male and Riley A. Wilkens, age 18; they were processed for Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by Minor. Morrison Police assisted on scene.
On 3/16/20 at 8:02 p.m., Katherine M. O’Shea, age 19 of Winfield, IL, was stopped on Interstate 88 at mile post 36 for no headlights. She was cited for No Headlights When Required and Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle – Driver. She was bonded on scene with a pending court date on 5/04/20 in Morrison, IL. Illinois State Police assisted on scene.
On 3/16/20 at 11:00 p.m., Deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle parked at the canal and IL Route 172. Catlyn M. Coy, age 19 of Sterling, IL, was cited for DUI – Cannabis and Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle – Driver. Kalvin T. Rascoe, age 19 also of Sterling, was cited for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle – Passenger. June L. Attebury, age 19 of Rock Falls, IL, also was cited for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle – Passenger. Rock Falls Police and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.
On 3/17/20 at 5:25 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies, Fulton Fire, Fulton EMS, Fulton Police, Clinton Police, and Clinton Fire/EMS responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries, on the U. S. Route 30 Mississippi River Bridge. George L. Drake, age 54 of Camanche, IA, was traveling westbound across the bridge, when his vehicle crossed the center line(s) and struck an eastbound vehicle nearly head-on. The eastbound vehicle was driven by Bridget L. Sweenie, age 46 of Morrison, IL. Both Drake and Sweenie were transported by Clinton Fire/EMS to Mercy One for medical treatment. Drake was cited for Improper Lane Usage with a mandatory court date on 5/04/20 in Morrison, IL. Midwest Towing and Downtown Auto also assisted on scene.
On 3/17/16 at 11:30 p.m., Neil A. Lopez, age 21 of Moline, IL, was traveling southbound on IL Route 40 south of Rock Falls, IL, at a high rate of speed and was stopped for the offense. Lopez was cited for Speeding 65/55 MPH and Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle – Driver. His passenger, Domonic M. Barajas, age 19 of Moline, was cited for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle – Passenger. Both were released on bond pending a future court date on 5/11/20 in Morrison, IL. Illinois State Police assisted on scene.
On 3/17/20 at 10:25 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies arrested Jake R. Verkruysse, age 33 of Erie, IL, on a valid Whiteside County Warrant for Burglary. Jake was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was processed and held in lieu of bond. Prophetstown Police Department assisted.
