Extended Time for Voter Registration

Dana Nelson, Whiteside County Clerk, announced that residents who did not register to vote by the February 18, 2020, deadline may register to vote and cast a ballot, during Grace Period Voting.  People who register during the Grace Period must register in the Courthouse office of the County Clerk, 200 E. Knox Street, Morrison, IL, and must cast their ballot that same day.

Those people registering during the Grace Period cannot vote at their polling place on Election Day.

Registration requirements to be eligible to vote:

  • be a United States citizen
  • be at least 18 years old by November 3, 2020, General Election Day
  • have been a resident of the precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day
  • bring two forms of identification.  One must show the current residence/address of the applicant.

Individuals may register and vote in person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m,  Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
