Third Thursday at The Loft on Main January 16

SandyShawls11 9 2019The public is invited to begin the new decade with a sociable visit to The Loft of Main, for the first “Third Thursday” of 2020.  The free event is January 16, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., before the gallery opens to the  public.  These morning gatherings allow men and women to relax, while immersed in hundreds of art works, at 112 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL.

On November 9, 2019, for example, Sandra Crouse modeled a handwoven shawl crafted by Barbara Youngquist of Rock Island, IL.  It was made of mohair, alpaca, and wool fibers.  Now Mari Jo Schuneman, of Rock Falls, IL, is selling handwoven scarves.

Sharon Boyles will serve new recipes to celebrate the new year:  Maple Nut Coffee Twist (bread), below; Sour Cream Struesel Coffee Cake with orange glaze; Muffins filled with cream cheese and apricot jam; Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.

Conversation rarely flags at The Loft on Main.  However, Third Thursday would be a perfect time to try that, while enjoying delicious bakery goods, good coffee, and friendly conversation.
