Dorothy “Dottie” A. Egberts, 82, of Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison, IL, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Resthave.
Dottie was born November 8, 1937, in Iowa City, IA, to Fred and Helen (McDowell) Eyerly. Dottie had been employed as a beautician and as a waitress; most recently she worked at Sunrise Restaurant in Fulton, IL. She liked making crafts to sell and give as gifts. Dottie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include daughters, Robin Rosas of Camanche, IA, and Teri (Art) Houzenga of Fulton; sons, Mike Smith of Savanna, IL, and Dennis (Deb) Plattenberger of Mt. Carroll, IL; seven grandchildren, Alex (Anne) Perez, Mandy Rosas, Leland Houzenga, Shane Houzenga, Terri Smith, Jennifer Smith, and LeAnn Hansen; many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister, Wanda (Jim) Hitchcock of Clinton, IA; brother, Bill (Carol) Eyerly of Circleville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Willie Smith; sisters, Dee Dee Lantz and Boopsie Simms; brothers, David and Jimmie L. Eyerly.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Beidler, Pastor of Spring Valley Reformed Church in Fulton, will officiate.
A memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2020, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
