January 3 Morrison Police Report

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, January 3, 2020.

Arrests:  On Friday, January 3, 2020, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Morrison Police attempted a welfare check on Shane A. Gaffey, age 45, at his residence of 631 E. Lincolnway, Apt. G, Morrison, IL.  The welfare check was necessary due to complaints received on his behavior.  As a result of the incident, Gaffey was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery (to a Police Officer) and was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.  Morrison Police were assisted by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, Fulton Police, Prophetstown Police, Lyndon Police, Albany Police, and Erie Police.

On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Zachary M. Kinison, age 26 of Morrison, IL, for a moving violation.  The traffic stop occurred in the 600 block of W. Lincolnway, Morrison.  As a result of the stop, Morrison Police arrested and charged Kinison with Speeding and Driving While License Revoked.  A passenger, Lorisa M. Flores, age 30 of Morrison, was arrested pursuant to an Order of Commitment issued by Whiteside County.  Kinison was released at the scene with a Notice to Appear, and Flores was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Thursday, January 9, 2020, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Morrison Police responded to a 911 call of a domestic dispute at 511 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation and with the assistance of the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, Vincent J. Cavallo, age 25 of Morrison, was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery.  Vincent was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.  The Morrison Community Hospital Emergency Medical Services also responded and transported the victim to MCH.
