Pearl Elizabeth Yarbrough, 94, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, November 15, 2019, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison.
Pearl was born October 1, 1925, in Fulton, IL, to Jacob G. and Gertrude (Balk) Housenga. She was educated in the Fulton Christian Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Pearl married Robert J. Yarbrough on March 2, 1945, in Fulton. She worked at the Garment Factory in Clinton, IA, after graduating from high school. Pearl then worked as a secretary alongside her husband Bob at Yarbrough Electric in Morrison until retirement. Pearl was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church and the church’s Ladies Aid, Philathea, and Prayer Circle. She participated in Women’s Bible Study every week and loved teaching Sunday School. Pearl was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed crocheting and collecting lady bugs. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; daughters, Jan (Arnie) Drolema and Debbie (Pete) Swearingen both of Morrison; son, Mark (Becky Berning) Yarbrough of Galena, IL; grandchildren, Mitch (Myriah) Drolema, Andy Van Osdol, Adam Swearingen, Jacob Yarbrough, and Emily Yarbrough; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Skylar, Schyon, Ella, Johnathan, Robert, and Millie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Delbert and Paul Housenga.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service. Co-officiating will be Ken Renkes and Rev. Marv Jacobs, Interim Pastor.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established by the family.
