Posted by

NeilTonyDecorTo provide improved constituent service and easier accessibility for residents of Whiteside County, State Senator Neil Anderson and State Representative Tony McCombie opened a new, shared, District office, at 301 First Avenue in Rock Falls, IL.

Rep. McCombie said, “We plan to be open a few times a week, but not on Fridays.”

The public is urged to call for an appointment and leave a message with the staff.

Liz Buckwalter explained, “Tony has wanted this, to have an office here.  This [space] opened up, [and] it’s kind of perfect.  It has its own private office.  Just learning casework is a lot of what we do and [how] to be more accessible.”  Buckwalter stand against the wall; Christine Lee sits at the desk.

The corner building houses two, attractive spaces; one is for private conversations.  Buckwalter and her friend chose the decor.  “Tony contributed the storage unit,” stated Buckwalter, and added personal touches for Anderson.  These include a University of Nebraska football wall plaque (where he played football) and Moline Fire Department helmet (where he holds a full-time job.)

An official Ribbon Cutting and celebration took place Monday, August 26, 2019, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.  Light refreshments were served.  The two rooms soon filled with well wishers; business owners; Sauk Valley, and Rock Falls, Chamber members; Whiteside County Board members; City Officials; others.  Visitors spilled onto the sidewalk for the dual ribbon cutting, photographs, and conversation with the Legislators.

“We’ve been trying to do this for a couple years.  Accessibility is [important.]  I recognize that my District office in Moline can be a long drive for many of the constituents I serve,” said Sen. Anderson.  “This new office in Rock Falls will provide a more convenient location for residents in the other part of my District and will give them a better opportunity to visit and receive assistance and services.  I encourage all to stop by.  I look forward to visiting with my constituents.”

Senator Anderson’s District Director is Jacob Seukunian; he can be reached by phone in Rock Falls, at 309-736-7084.  Anderson’s Moline, IL, office at 1523 47th Avenue, Suite 2, will remain open and also can be reached by phone at 309-736-7084.

Rep. McCombie remarked, “The 71st House District encompasses a large area, and I recognize that my home District office in Savanna, IL, may not be convenient for all.  Opening this second office with Senator Anderson will give constituents from the eastern part of the 71st District improved access to the services our office provides.  I invite residents to stop by and visit, to familiarize themselves with our location, and meet my fantastic team.”

“We are thrilled to be here and serve the Sterling-Rock Falls people!” exclaimed Christine Lee.  She has “been with Tony three years.  This is our first foray into a second location.  If either location [Savanna or Rock Falls] does not meet the needs of a constituent, we always ‘take the office to them’.”

McCombie’s Legislative Aides in the Rock Falls office are Liz Buckwalter and Christine Lee.  The District office in Savanna, IL, will continue to serve constituents at 9317B IL Route 84.  Both McCombie offices can be reached by phone at 815-632-7384.
