Orvie I. Peppers, 93 formerly of Rock Falls, IL, died Sunday August 4, 2019, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison, IL.
She was born on April 22, 1926, in Hackleburg, AL, the daughter of Thomas J. and Minnie I. (Crow) Tidwell. She had worked in dietary at the former Dixon Develop Mental Center for 20 years and then worked for six years in dietary at Pleasant View Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Morrison.
She was a member of Como Baptist Church. She had enjoyed sewing and quilting and had a great love for her family.
Survivors include two sons: Edward (Judy) Peppers of Byhalia, MS, and Jack (Diane) Peppers of Morrison; one daughter, Sharon (Gary) Handel of Sterling, IL; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren.
We want to acknowledge our appreciation as a family to her care givers: Jan Cady, Tonya Denning, Kathie Sliger, and Lucas Peppers.
Orvie was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Ronald and Wayne Peppers; grandson Todd; great-grandson Tyler; great-granddaughter Jaylen; five sisters; two brothers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 7, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls, IL.
The funeral will follow on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls, IL., with Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating and Kenneth Peppers, assisting.
Burial will take place at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling, IL.
Memorials have been established to Diabetes Research or Heart Association.
