Editor’s note:  The feature and photos were submitted by Kathy Schmidt.

The cleanup and painting of Pickleball courts in Kelly Park, E. High Street, Morrison, IL, are complete.  A huge thank you goes to Roger and Jan Stuart who have worked alongside Kathy Schmidt daily on this project.  Special thanks also go to Mike Shears, Pickleball Professional, for his guidance and assistance and to Gary Harris and Carissa Simester who taped and painted the courts with accuracy.

The City will put the tennis nets up to separate the four Pickleball courts.  Pickleball nets, wiffle balls, and racquets will be available the week of July 22, 2019.

Pickleball is a great activity for all ages.  A free Pickleball Clinic will be conducted on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. by Mike Shears.  The maximum number of participants is eight per session, so register early.  He will teach the rules and basic techniques.

To register, call Kathy Schmidt 815-564-8772 or email her at keschmidt77@gmail.com with questions.
