Sherry L. Schwartz, 75, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at MercyOne Medical Center Clinton, in Clinton, IA.
Sherry was born November 20, 1943, in Morrison, to Isaac “Ike” and Lucille R. (Habben) Hook. She attended the White Pigeon School in rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Morrison High School. She later earned a CPS (Certified Professional Secretary) certificate. Sherry worked as a Secretary and Human Resource Manager at Thomas and Betts Corp. in Clinton, IA. She was an avid quilter and was a member of the River City Quilt Guild. From 2002 to 2005, she served as active member of the Morrison Sesquicentennial Committee. She organized others to make a Sesquicentennial quilt to raffle, to finance the City wide celebration.
Survivors include her mother, Lucille Hook of Morrison; one son, Ken Schwartz of Clinton; significant other of 27 years, Richard “Dick” Landsiedel of Morrison; one sister, Patricia Taylor of Bettendorf, IA; one brother, Dennis (Linda) Hook of Morrison; nephew and nieces, Austin, Ashley, and Rachel.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father; two brothers in infancy.
Funeral services are private.
Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL.
