Take a spring stroll into the past at a recreated pioneer village beside the Mississippi River. Join the Early American Crafters and guest interpreters at Heritage Canyon on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during our annual Dutch Days celebration. The location is 515 N. 4th Street, Fulton, IL. Watch demonstrations and talk to our artists, vendors, and others recreating life in the 1800’s.
Park in downtown Fulton. On Saturday, May 4, there will be a shuttle between downtown and the Canyon, with the last pickup at 4:00 p.m.

All 11 buildings will be open for you to visit, several manned by reenactors who bring history to life. See our log cabin and clapboard homes, church, school, covered bridge, blacksmith shop, general store, and others. Cross the ever-popular swinging or covered bridges or hike the trails.
Admission for a whole day of fun is only $2 per adult and $1 for children.
Spend time next door to Heritage Canyon exploring insect activities at Andresen Nature Center with Director Kyle Kopf. The address is 409 N. 4th Street. Children can make a pinwheel and view information about the Monarch Butterfly nursery. The butterfly eggs have not arrived yet, due to the cool weather. Last year Andresen Nature Center released 414 Monarchs.
Sadly, severe cold led to the loss of the bee observation hive. It will be populated with new bees soon. Nonviable larva and honey are visible in the frames.
Stacy Gates, Fulton High School Science teacher will bring the Science Club members again. Older student visitors may dissect a grasshopper with their assistance!
