Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Morrison’s Heritage Museum is located at 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL. The Morrison Historical Society Board of Trustees invites the public to its Grand Opening of the 2019 season, on Sunday, April 28, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Trustees include Bill Brackemyer, Mary Ellen Brackemyer, Judy McCulloh, Carole Patton, Shayne Prange, D. J. Sikkema, Dan Vandermyde, Stephanie Vavra, Robert Vegter, Diane Wiebenga, and Harvey Zuidema.
The Opening Day program begins promptly at 1:30. It features the history and future of Morrison Community Hospital, from 1921 to 2019. Learn about the major expansion that will break ground this summer. There will be time to share stories related to your experiences at the hospital–births, special Doctors and nurses, volunteerism, or employment.
Beginning in May, the museum will be open Friday-through-Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Visits at other times can be arranged. Contact the MHS at MorrisonHistSoc@gmail.com or by telephone 815-772-8889.
Consider holding your Book Club sessions here. This is the site of the original Odell Public Library. If you have not been inside the building since the library moved to its new home–in the summer of 1995–please know that you are “overdue” for a visit. Organizations and Clubs also use the building for meetings.
