These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On 4-10-19 at 8:00 p.m.Perry T. Ports, age 56 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped on Interstate 88 for speeding.  Ports was cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and released on bond, pending a future court date.  He was also issued a written warning for the speeding offense.

On 4-10-19 at 11:15 p.m., a 17-year-old Dixon male was cited for Failure to Yield-Stationary Emergency Vehicle on U. S. Route 30 near Clearwater Drive, rural Rock Falls, IL.  He and his passenger, Teddy D. Robbins, Jr., age 19 of Rock Falls, were also cited for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.  The 17-year-old driver was additionally processed for Zero Tolerance Implied Consent at the Sterling Police Department, before being released to his mother.  Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.

On 4-11-19 at 7:00 p.m., Holden D. Kessel, age 21 of Lyndon, IL, was stopped in Morrison, IL, by Deputies for a display of registration infraction.  Kessel was cited for No Valid Driver’s License and arrested on two warrants:  Whiteside County, Failure to Appear-Drug Paraphernalia and Ogle County, Failure to Appear-Driving While License Suspended.  He was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail on the warrants.  Morrison Police and Hunter’s Towing assisted on scene.

On 4-12-19 at 5:08 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies, Sterling Fire Department, Rock Falls Fire Department, and CGH EMS responded to a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Moline Road at Mellotts Road, rural Sterling, IL.  A garbage truck driven by Zachariah L. Randall, age 40 of Sterling, was improperly parked in the opposite lane of travel, facing southwest in the northeast lane of Moline Road.  A second vehicle driven by Rita R. Specht, age 72 of Lyndon, IL, failed to distinguish that the garbage truck was parked in her lane of travel.  She crashed into the garbage truck head-on causing major damage to both vehicles.  Specht was transported to CGH Medical Center for treatment and/or observation of her injuries.  Randall was cited for Improper Lane Usage and was uninjured in the crash.  Williams’ Towing and Johnson’s Towing assisted on scene as well.
