Thank you, to Morrison Community Hospital EMT Specialist Shelly Price, shown demonstrating on an infant mannequin, who provided CPR and First Aid training to Morrison High School Freshmen, on Wednesday, March 20, through Friday, March 22, 2019. Price conducts the trainings twice a year during their Health class. This is the third year, stated MCH Marketing Director Mick Welding, that all Freshmen have received life saving instruction. Morrison High School Health and Physical Education instructor Michael Budka is shown at left. By year’s end, nearly 100 students will complete the course.
The State of Illinois requires that all high school students be certified in CPR/First Aid prior to graduation.
Welding noted he encouraged student volunteers to role play as patients and rewarded them with candy bars.
“Morrison Community Hospital is proud to provide this training at no charge to Morrison Community Unit School District,” he stated. “Well done, students!”
