Brought back by popular demand, Savanna Historical Society has scheduled an evening concert, featuring beautiful acoustic harp music, with selections from classical to jazz. Come, enjoy a delightful evening of music, wine, cheese, and chocolates! Mark Brewer will showcase solo harp music on Friday, February 22, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., at the Savanna Museum and Cultural Center, 406 Main Street, Savanna, IL.
Brewer began studying the harp at the age of 11. He continued studies at the University of Michigan, graduating with a Bachelor of Music, and continued with graduate studies at Boston University.
An active freelance musician, he has extensive experience as a soloist, ensemble performer, and recording artist. He has performed with the Chicago Civic Orchestra; Boston Opera Concert; Chicago Jazz Orchestra; Dubuque Symphony; many other orchestras in Illinois and Michigan. Brewer now resides in Savanna with his wife, Mona.
Cabaret seating will be limited. Advance tickets are available from Savanna Historical Society members or by calling Juliene at 815-275-5955 or Ann at 815-275-1958. A $10 donation will be appreciated.
Proceeds from the event will go toward future programming and renovations of the Cultural Center.
